Forested wetlands are found in predominantly wooded areas with filtered or partial sun and poorly drained soils or groundwater tables close to the surface. These habitats support a unique set of water-tolerant perennials, grasses, and sedges.  When recreating this habitat in a home garden, focus on areas that receive some shade from your home or adjacent trees and tend to hold water for an extended period after rain.
